a stewardship campaign

February 18 - Blessed Assurance

"…Perfect submission, all is at rest ..." So begins the third verse of the Fanny Crosby hymn.

In James 5:13 "Is anyone of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise." We are reminded that prayer is not only for those who are experiencing hardships, but also for those who are having a good life. Is the James reference a prayer for deliverance or a prayer of praise? Both!

At this time in our church history, let us pray for that perfect submission. Earnestly pray that the heart of all those involved with the decisions and plans for rebuilding our church sanctuary are attuned to God's will. Pray also that hearts are called to deliver generously the means to meet the financial obligations. As the work begins, allow all of our hearts to remember that the dust and dirt are not hardships to endure but joy for future beauty and sanctuary for worship.

In perfect submission we must also not forget to be in prayer, in praise for God's provision. All that we have is His first. Let us not forget this. Good stewardship of all that He provides is our privilege.

And the Fanny Crosby verse continues, "…I in my Savior am happy and blest…"
